What is telehealth?

Telehealth, or telemedicine, is a convenient service that Bloom Pediatrics offers to ensure that you get quality pediatric care for your child seven days a week. Telehealth provides a one-on-one connection to their provider for sick visits and consultations, either online or over the phone. 

Using a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, you can schedule a telehealth visit from a location that is easiest for you and your child. Your provider works with you to answer questions, assess your child's health, and order treatments as needed. 

Unlike many pediatric offices, Bloom Pediatrics offers telehealth during regular office hours, evenings, and weekends. You always have a trusted provider available to help guide decisions about your infant, child, or adolescent's health and wellness. 

When should I schedule a telehealth visit for my child? 

When you need quality pediatric health support, you can utilize the telehealth system at Bloom Pediatrics. They offer telehealth visits for diagnostic test review, sick visits, and conditions such as: 

• Acute illnesses: viruses, sinusitis, skin rashes, pink eye
• Depression
• Anxiety
• ADHD
• Follow Ups  
• Consultations: newborn feeding questions/concerns, behavior consultations, newborn anticipatory guidance 

Some conditions and services require in-person care, such as initial mental health evaluations, vaccinations, well-child visits, sports and school physicals, diagnostic testing, and wound care. If you are unsure whether telehealth is ideal for your situation, call the nearest office for guidance. 

What does a telehealth visit entail?

Bloom Pediatrics offers telehealth seven days a week, Monday-Saturday 9 am to 8 pm and Sunday from 12 to 6 pm. You can schedule your telehealth visit online with a provider who contacts you via phone or video at the time you choose. 

Depending on the reason for your visit, they may request pictures or other information when you schedule your visit to help them prepare for your telehealth consultation.

During your visit, your provider asks you (or your child) a series of questions to assess your child's wellness or address any concerns you may have. They discuss a treatment plan with you and send prescriptions to your preferred pharmacy electronically if needed.
